The Directors of Beckford Contractors Limited understand Health and Safety forms a fundamental part of the organisation’s work activities within the construction industry. As such, we are fully committed to ensuring all management, staff and operatives are confident and qualified to undertake day to day tasks.

By continual appraisal of our employees training needs, we ensure their competence to perform their duties, whilst safeguarding our compliance with current legislation.

Having a good working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, we are fully compliant in our role as Principal Contractor. We directly employ a Chartered Member of IOSH as our safety officer to oversee all aspects of health and safety for the company. The safety officer ensures our compliance with current legislation, training requirements and safe working procedures are all met and implemented.

The Directors are committed to health and safety and lead by example to demonstrate this sincerity by their actions. The Directors have organised for other members of management to attain IOSH qualifications to support our safety officer. This assists with the continual assessment of our overall health & safety performance throughout the organisation.

Our pro-active approach to health and safety has been instilled to create an environment where staff are encouraged to discuss and participate in the development, compliance and continuous improvement of our safety systems. Consultation with the workforce is actively encouraged to increase awareness of their particular working environment and also to maintain a safe working culture within the organisation.

The Directors have continued their employment of Lighthouse Safety Training Ltd as the organisation’s Health and Safety Consultants.

For numerous years, they have worked in close contact with our own safety officer to ensure our health and safety performance is continually assessed and revised where neccessary. As an independent external consultant, they can also provide us with unbiased site inspections, monitoring and auditing when required.

Lighthouse Safety Training continue to provide us with the majority of our ongoing health & safety training for management, staff and operatives.
